Hi! So – I didn’t get a chance to put together my Friday Dispatch on Friday. I also, uh, kind of forgot that’s what day it was? Whoops! In my defense, there’s already so much Halloween decor in the windows of my local drugstore, I’m not 100% what MONTH it is either.
Anyway, not a ton going on this week. I have been unpacking (the apartment) and packing (for Vienna). Did I mention I’m going to Vienna? This week? Vienna, Austria????? Well! It’s a work trip, which I’ve done before, but it’s my first time going to Europe. If you have any hot tips for getting through customs on time/sleeping on the flight/dealing with jet lag/inexpensive European moisturizers I should stock up on, please let me know.
With that in mind: my next newsletter will likely be a bunch of photos from this trip. But once I’m back, paid subscribers can expect a weekly update with stats/thoughts/details on my novel revision progress (yay!!!!!!). I’m excited to get back to writing to you on a regular basis.
Now, here’s a short list of…
What I Didn’t Buy This Last Week
My friend Sophia swears by the Jet Lag mask by the brand Summer Fridays. She uses it as a moisturizer, but I was interested in it because I am traveling soon (see above!) and wanted a thick goo I could slather myself with during air travel. Since it’s my birthday month, I did something sneaky: I went to Sephora, I looked at their free birthday gifts, I confirmed I didn’t really want any of them, I redeemed my birthday credit for 250 rewards points instead, and…I used THOSE points (plus an existing 50 in my account) to get THREE sample sizes of the Jet Lag mask. The “travel size” version retails for $26 and is slightly smaller than the total volume of my three little samples. So, yeah, good scheming!
I did not buy a full size of YSL Libre Intense, a perfume I doused myself in at Sephora and decided I love. BUT. There’s a 3.4 ounce bottle on sale at Walmart dot com so…I may buy it once I hit “send” on this newsletter.
By the way, Walmart has some stellar web deals right now (and also some super weird stuff)! My mom informed me of this (she’s the one who hooked me up with the YSL Walmart link). They have an Apple Watch SE on sale, which I DO want, but…I also asked for the Tamagotchi smart watch for my birthday, and though it doesn’t send/receive text messages, I think that is a smarter investment for me.
I didn’t buy this cool tarot-themed room divider, because I actually quite like the open layout of our apartment.
I bought two pairs of practical flats from Old Navy (who AM I?!) but did not buy this satin dot skirt.
I did not buy several items I liked at J. Crew because upon closer examination, they were all children’s sizes. Oops.
Ahead of my trip, I considered buying these two blouse bodysuits; I didn’t, because I have plenty of Business Clothes, but I sort of regret it. What’s the opposite of buyer’s remorse?
And finally, I did not buy a 1989 (Taylor’s Version) necklace from Made by Mary. I won it in a giveaway! Yay! I will be wearing it A LOT until October 27.
Anyway, that’s about it for me. I’ll catch up with you guys again later this week!
Oh, wait. I keep forgetting to mention: I chopped off all my hair!
Okay, that’s all til Friday. Thanks for reading! Love you! Be safe! Bye bye!
